Grapestone Tokyo Banana World Pokemon Cookie Sandwich with Overflowing Chocolate

Grapestone’s banana-custard sponge became the capital’s definitive station-and-airport souvenir, and the Tokyo Banana World brand now lends that pedigree to an irresistible partner: Pokemon.

This is the collaboration’s cookie sandwich, and its name announces its best feature with typical Japanese candor: hamidashi choco — “the chocolate sticks out.”

Each langue de chat cookie is baked to a light, crisp shell, and the chocolate filling is pressed deliberately past the edges, overflowing the sandwich in a thick visible band.

Six Pikachu cookies pair with banana yogurt chocolate — a nod to the parent brand’s signature flavor, tangy and sweet; six Eevee cookies carry caramel macchiato chocolate, toasty and gently bitter-edged.

Each cookie is stamped with character artwork in six possible designs, sealed in individually wrapped packets that themselves come in six Pikachu-and-Eevee patterns — so the box opens into a small lottery of poses, exactly the collect-them-all delight the license demands.
