The pretzel is made from a blend of domestic Japanese wheat flour and whole wheat flour, baked with malt extract to a clean, toasty snap and a subtle depth that goes slightly further than a plain biscuit base.

Fermented butter is folded into the dough, contributing a quiet richness that rounds the grain flavor and gives each stick a faint warmth before the chocolate has even arrived.

The chocolate coating is where the current recipe makes its most deliberate statement.

Rather than a generic milk chocolate, Glico sources cacao from specific origins chosen for their aromatic profile — fragrant and full-bodied, with a natural depth of flavor that the recipe builds on rather than masks.

Cocoa butter and whole milk powder complete the coating, giving it a smooth, clean melt and a richness that sits comfortably between sweet and substantial. Each pack contains 189mg of cacao polyphenols, a detail that speaks to the quality of the cacao used as much as to any health consideration.
