Orion Sour Cigarette Candy

Sour Cigarette is the third flavor in Orion’s Cigarette Series, arriving in April 1993 — eight years after Cola Cigarette established the format’s expansion beyond the original Cocoa.

Where Cocoa is the founder and Cola is the most widely recognized flavor, Sour is the one that pushes hardest in the direction of tartness, and the one that most clearly mirrors the Mini Sour bottle that had been in Orion’s lineup since 1979.

The flavor is clean citric sourness — the same sharp, bright acidity that defines the Mini Sour tablet, applied here to the cigarette stick format.

Unlike the Cocoa version’s cocoa-and-mint combination, or the Cola version’s spiced sweetness, Sour is built entirely around acid and sweetness in contrast, without a secondary aromatic note to complicate the profile.

The sourness arrives immediately on the first bite and dissipates quickly into a clean, mildly sweet finish — refreshing rather than lingering, which is what makes it easy to work through several sticks in sequence.

The packaging uses the same Little Bob Dog character as Cola Cigarette — the Sunward Sunchara mascot that distinguishes the later Cigarette Series additions from the more austere cigarette-box graphic of the original Cocoa version.
