It does not bury the snack in spice powder, which means the corn stays audible underneath — Japanese reviewers consistently describe it as mild, mellow and slightly sweet rather than spicy, and note that the corn’s own toasted flavor still comes through.

Anyone expecting the heat of a South or Southeast Asian curry should recalibrate; this is comfort seasoning.

The pieces are the same plump, hollow corn-shaped tubes the range is known for, with a light, clean crispness.

They are big enough that a single one is more than a single bite, which gives a 50 g bag a slower, more deliberate feel than a bag of thin chips.
