Paritzel is a pretzel sandwich from Ito Biscuits, the Japanese cookie specialist behind the Mr. Ito brand. The pretzel dough is baked extra thin using the company’s own method, which gives it a light, crisp snap and a faint savory saltiness. Between two layers goes a smooth milk chocolate cream.

The cream was developed in-house to hold its own against the strongly flavored pretzel. It is a mildly sweet milk chocolate cream that balances milky richness and cocoa notes. It was chosen from dozens of trial recipes, so neither the cream nor the pretzel overpowers the other.
